Synopsis: Choreography for - and by - the camera. What began as a detailed documentary study of selected choreographer's works staged anew for the camera-eye, developed into a dialogue between the dancing body and the cinematographic apparatus at hand. The results of this conversation between the dancing figure/s and the cinematographer/s in question, was translated further into a counterpoint of video images on two opposing screens. Filmed in a studio setting against a uniform backdrop of either luminous white or velvet black, the multiple and varied views of each choreographer's session are juxtaposed in the final edit - resulting in new forms and unexpected choreographic relationships. Artists of the Ballett Frankfurt re-create stage choreographies for the camera eye.
